Legal information

Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains how Koko Digital Ltd handles information for BuzzWord, including the website, Twitch Extension, streamer dashboard, browser source, public profiles and chat-powered game.

Last updated: 3 August 2026

01

What we collect

When you log in with Twitch or share your identity through the Twitch Extension, we may receive account details such as your Twitch ID, login name, display name, profile image and, if Twitch provides it, your email address. During play we may store game sessions, stream metadata, game settings, chat player display names, submitted guesses, scores, leaderboard positions, game results and technical records needed to operate the game.

02

Twitch Extension

The BuzzWord Twitch Extension receives information supplied by Twitch. This may include an anonymous or opaque viewer identifier, the channel being viewed and technical information needed to operate the Extension. If you choose to share your Twitch identity, Twitch may provide your Twitch user ID. We use this information to identify your BuzzWord profile and provide your scores, game history and statistics. The Extension sends authenticated requests to BuzzWord services at buzzword.tv and does not receive your Twitch password.

03

Analytics and device information

We may collect usage and analytics information such as pages visited, feature usage, referral source, approximate location, device type, browser, operating system, network information, session duration, page performance and error logs. We use this to understand how BuzzWord is used, improve the game, maintain reliability, measure campaign performance and diagnose technical issues.

04

How we use data

We use data to connect BuzzWord to your stream, create and protect your unique game URL, run chat-powered rounds, remember your settings, prevent duplicate or invalid score submissions, provide the Twitch Extension, show streamer and player profiles, display recent results and players who found a word, maintain leaderboards, provide support, improve our services and notify users about important service changes.

05

Contact and stream opportunities

We may use streamer contact details, including an email address provided through Twitch or by you directly, to contact you about BuzzWord, support requests, service updates, feedback, analytics insights, future game features, brand campaigns or opportunities to participate in streams, activations or sponsored game experiences. You can ask us to stop non-essential contact at any time.

06

Legal bases

Where privacy laws require a legal basis, we process data where it is needed to provide BuzzWord, where we have a legitimate interest in operating, improving, securing and promoting the service, where you have given consent, or where we need to comply with legal obligations.

07

Cookies and similar technology

BuzzWord may use cookies, local storage and similar technologies to keep you logged in, operate sessions, remember preferences, measure usage and protect the service. You can control cookies through your browser, but parts of the game may not work properly if required cookies or storage are blocked.

08

Sharing and public display

We do not sell personal information. We may share data with service providers that help us host, store, secure, analyse and operate BuzzWord. The website, Twitch Extension, public profiles, game overlays and leaderboards may display streamer names, Twitch profile images, player display names, submitted guesses, scores, game results, participation and the players who found a word because these form part of the game experience.

09

Twitch and other services

Twitch separately processes information under its own privacy notice. BuzzWord may also use hosting, analytics, database, infrastructure and support providers to deliver the service. Those providers process information only as needed for their services and are subject to their own privacy terms.

10

International processing

Our service providers may process or store data in the United Kingdom, European Economic Area, United States or other locations where they operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

11

Security

We use safeguards such as signed session and overlay tokens, server-side sessions, environment-managed secrets, access controls and encrypted browser communication where deployed over HTTPS. Production hosting and database providers may also protect stored data, including encryption at rest where configured. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure.

12

Retention, access and deletion

We keep game, account, analytics and leaderboard records for as long as reasonably needed to provide BuzzWord, maintain records, understand usage, resolve disputes and improve the service. You can contact us to request access, correction or deletion of personal information linked to your Twitch account, although deleting some data may remove settings, leaderboard records or game history.

13

Children

BuzzWord is intended for streamers and live-streaming communities and is not aimed at children under 13. If a child uses Twitch or a stream chat, their parent or guardian is responsible for supervising that use and should contact us if they believe personal information has been provided inappropriately.
